Greater Toronto, January 31, 2013 – Members of the Building Industry and Land Development Association are looking forward to working with Ontario Premier-designate Kathleen Wynne on improving communication between industry and government, as well as protecting the interest of consumers.

The National Sales and Marketing Awards (aka The Nationals) are coming up in Las Vegas and as usual, an impressive number of BILD members are finalists. Last Friday our members came together again for the Party for Humanity. For the event’s fourth year we decided to try out The Warehouse in Downsview Park and add a White Party twist. Everyone looked amazing and we raised over $30,000 for Habitat for Humanity Toronto.


You’ve got mail: addressing community mailbox fees

Following the announcement by Canada Post regarding changes to the process of installing community mailboxes in new developments, BILD and the Canadian Home Builders’ Association (CHBA) have made media appearances on behalf of the industry to voice discontent.

Going back to school to address transit in the GTA

Last Friday, Bryan Tuckey represented BILD at a transit summit the day after meeting with staff at Metrolinx, the provincial agency behind the regional transportation plan dubbed The Big Move. We support the Metrolinx plan and believe that investment should be targeted to support jobs and aligned with the province’s principles in the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe.


The 20th annual BILD Charity BBQ wraps up for another year

Last Thursday’s 20th annual Charity BBQ in support of Habitat for Humanity Toronto went off without a hitch. A big thank you goes out to everyone who was involved in this amazing event, from the organizing committee, to our volunteers, to sponsors, to donors. You know who you are!
